With and Against the Grain: Shannon White
Shannon White’s work is inspired by graffiti, but not of the confrontational/territorial sort. It’s definitely of the “I can’t help but create, and I hope you’ll stop and look” variety.

Huff has come up with an intriguing premise — blowing up cell phone photos and combining them with a graffiti-inspired code of his own divising — and made it work on both the visual and conceptual fronts.
Edgy Elegance: Elizabeth Post
Post favors images of brick buildings (often in the West Bottoms) and bridges; the timeless appeal is obvious, while the edge comes from the grafitti marking many of the surfaces — a sort of tattooing of the brick, if you will.

Through Fuhrman’s lens, and in her hands, the train paintings are deconstructed into their basic elements of color, line and curve. (Sometimes a bit of context seeps through, as in the clearly visible “G” in today’s featured image.) Her arrangement of the shots highlights the complements and contrasts of those key components.
