June 25, 6-8 p.m. Crescendo, unveiling of permanent public sculpture by Jorge García Almodovar, in conjunction with the Sounds at Summit Fair concert, featuring the Shanks (free and open to the public; concert begins at 6, with the presentation at approximately 6:45 p.m.). Presented by RED Development and the Lee’s Summit Arts Council; an artist selection panel chose Garcia's work from an open call for artists based on his site-specific approach, which considers the location at the main street's roundabout and how people may experience Crescendo on foot or by driving.
