Tom King has lived in five countries, six cities, four towns, and a couple of boats. In the freewheeling '70s, he worked in the music business, touring with Patti Smith, Gil Scott-Heron, and Barry Manilow. His desire to escape the noise and chaos of the rock-and-roll lifestyle then led to a 25-year stint in the restaurant business. Now a semi-retired chef and consultant, King has at last found his peace as a freelance writer in Lawrence, Kansas.
