About
REVIEW, INC.
Review Incorporated is a 501c-3 organization which owns and operates Review Publishing. Through its publications, Review Incorporated produces publications about visual art culture for regional distribution. For the past 10 years (from 1998 to 2009), its print periodical Review provided a venue for emerging and established art historians, curators, artists, writers and students to publish critical reviews, editorials, features, and virtual exhibitions. Although no longer publishing a print periodical on a monthly basis, Review provides the same type of content in its online publication. Our readership has more than doubled since we switched to our online format, and as we add new writers, articles, and features, we expect that readership to continue to expand.
In addition to our online magazine, we publish a print annual, highlighting the region's achievements in visual arts during the past year with long-form critical essays based on a set of images curated by an independent curator team, from those received in an open-call submission process (summer). Review Publishing also strives to work with other individuals and organizations to create unique printed publications that relate to the visual arts in our region. Please visit our Publishing page for more information.
Review Publishing continues to raise the depth and breadth of art discourse in Greater Kansas City and increase national awareness of the community’s vibrant visual art community through interactive dialogue with other communities. A copy of our full editorial policy (including mission, vision, and ethics) can be downloaded here.
Review Publishing focuses primarily on the Greater Kansas City area, but our overall geographic scope includes the surrounding region: Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Minnesota, and Tennessee.
